Apple iPhone supplier Foxconn intends to retain employees; offers $718 subsidy

Apple iPhone supplier Foxconn intends to retain its employees at its main factory in China by offering them a subsidy of $718. Foxconn’s main factory in China is affected by protests due to Covid-19 pandemic.

AppleInsider reported that Foxconn will offer a subsidy to employees who will continue to work from January 1 to March 20 in essential roles in iPhone factory at Zhengzhou. It reported that workers will have to be a valid employee to receive that subsidy.

Essentially, the factory is offering ‘show up’ payments for employees. Employees will receive a bonus of $862 if they work for more than 23 days in the next month January 2023.
